improves and relieves peristalsis by regulating the gastrointestinal tract.
constipation, intoxication, intestinal dysfunction, high cholesterol and sugar in blood
· On May 22, 1997, the USFDA approved the use of plantain bark as an additional source of soluble fiber, establishing a link between the use of Isabgol and a reduction in the risk of developing Ischemic Heart Disease.
· Constipation is a very common complaint worldwide. The main reason for this is the poor functioning of the intestinal tract. Isabgol is a product that helps maintain regular motility in the intestinal tract and facilitates the passage of feces. The pharmacological action of isabgol is determined by the high content of fibrous polysaccharides, which have a pronounced hydrophilicity and form a gel. Traveling through the gastrointestinal tract, the gel mass acts on the principle of molecular "sponge", normalizes and homogenizes the internal environment of the intestinal tract, absorbs toxins and gases, actively reduces abdominal pain and bloating, promotes the reduction of fat absorption, slows down gastric emptying, and weight loss.
· The inert part of the husk of the Psyllium seeds helps to ensure a constant amount of solid material, regardless of other aspects of the diet or the condition of any intestinal disease. Also, some recent studies show that Isabgol has the potential to lower cholesterol and control diabetes. The mechanism of action is due to the effective reduction of the absorption of total and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, bile acids and glucose by reducing its maximum blood levels. Increased faecal excretion of nitrogen actively reduces plasma urea.
· The husk of plantain seeds is used as a main ingredient in the manufacture of medicinal products such as:
Metamucil, Colon Sleanse, Serutan, Fybogel, Bonvit, Effersyllium and Konsyl.
Psyllium seeds husk powder (Plantago ovata).
